BETS & van Bosch Share “All Heart” New Single + Video New Single Out July 10th
Today, alt-pop-star, BETS (the pseudonym of artist Betsy Hershey) and van Bosch (Zanna van Vorstenbosch) the Dutch model-turned-sea- siren, are joining forces on new single, “All Heart,” due July 10, 2026.
“All Heart” is a defiant, shimmering love letter to the global protest movement. Driven by the unrest and shifting tides currently reshaping the world, the duo’s studio sessions naturally evolved into a forum for non-violent civil disobedience. “This song is a love letter to the voices demanding a future right now,” BETS and van Bosch explain.
Channeling Nina Simone’s belief that an artist must reflect the times, they’ve crafted a sonic tribute for the young voices and “beautiful hearts” currently occupying the streets and demanding a future. It’s a haunting, urgent plea for empathy—a sonic heartbeat that proves staying soft is a powerful form of resistance.
“All Heart” isn’t a protest track; it’s more of a pulse,” they continue.
“We wanted to capture the friction of right now—the energy of people refusing to stay silent and the raw ache of caring in an indifferent world. It’s a love letter to the bravery of refusing to be numb and the collective spirit of community.”
Born out of creative shorthand and deep friendship, “All Heart” captures the raw, unscripted chemistry between the two artists, recorded during off-hours in an East Village art gallery.
FEATURE INTERVIEW:
All Heart” was recorded during off-hours inside an East Village art gallery — how did that unconventional setting shape the sound and energy of the track, and was the DIY approach a conscious creative choice or something that happened organically?
Honestly, it was entirely accidental. There was no grand DIY manifesto, just a classic case of right place, right time. Still, being surrounded by art definitely beat looking at a blank studio wall.
The day we tracked it, the energy was electric. A massive nationwide protest was happening right outside. I (Bets) had just forced van Bosch to watch a cut of my new climate documentary, and we were hiding out in the gallery talking about how these young activists are absolutely “all heart.” The song just fell out of that exact moment, fueled by a perfect mix of timing and existential dread.
BETS, you’re co-directing Just Look Up alongside releasing this single, how does your work behind the camera influence the way you approach storytelling through music, and do you see the two mediums as extensions of the same creative vision?
I actually prefer to keep them in entirely separate boxes. Film and music feel like two totally different headspaces, which is crucial. If you spend a grueling day directing or staring at a timeline, you need somewhere else to go.
Music is my absolute escape. It’s where I get to stay up way too late and just sort of disappear into something entirely my own. They’ve definitely started to bleed into each other a bit more recently, which is quite fun, but I still fiercely protect that distance between them. You need that second world to run away to, otherwise you’ll just drive yourself mad.
Reflecting Nina Simone’s belief that an artist’s duty is to reflect the times, in a media landscape that often depoliticizes art for broader commercial appeal, how do you navigate staying true to that philosophy without compromise?
We are just trying to make the things we actually care about. The idea of sanitizing a project to make it more digestible just sounds incredibly boring. Why bother?
The trick is really just about who you surround yourself with. You have to find partners who completely back the vision and aren’t terrified of a little friction. If the team trusts the work, we don’t have to water it down. We just get to make the art.
