How has the transition from modeling to acting been for you?
Well, actually, I don’t know if I really had a transition because I always knew that acting was my passion . I attended a Performing Arts high school and acting was the reason for my move to Los Angeles . I was lucky enough to have modeling as a job , cause as a young actor one must have a “second” job that actually pays the bills . So it’s not like I had a sudden shift in careers . I always pursued acting and did roles on TV shows and took acting classes – it’s just that only now all the hard work is finally paying off and people get to see me act in more major projects.
You are the definition of “Blonde Bombshell”. What bombshell do you relate to- are you a Marilyn or a Rita?
Well thank you! Haha! I would probably say, Marilyn. I am a huge fan of hers. I grew up watching those old movies with her like: How To Marry a Millionaire, Some Like It Hot, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. I think that’s when I first fell in love with movies, with the fantasy, the costumes, the beauty, the escapism of it . She was an amazing comedian, but her talent was overshadowed by her incredible beauty. Unfortunately she didn’t get the true credit for how skilled an actress she really was. I actually love doing comedy as well, maybe from watching those movies when I was 10 years old.
How was it working on such a male dominated cast of Pain & Gain?
It is a great movie, that I am very proud to be a part of. I really felt that the boys took me under their wing and were very protective of me. They made what could have been a really scary experience into fun. I guess we became a really buff, dysfunctional family.
What movies do you have coming up this year?
You can see me next in the film Non-Stop with Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore. It’s out February 28th and in May, in the movie Million Dollar Arm with Jon Hamm and Alan Arkin.
What is your ideal role in a movie?
The lead! I’m joking. I don’t know if there is an ideal one role out there for me. I want to do it all! I had a lot of fun with comedic roles in Pain & Gain and Million Dollar Arm, and Non-Stop is a great Action/Thriller, so I guess I would love to do a drama next or a period piece. I want to explore it all, try to get into the minds of as many characters as I can. I want to tell great stories through them – so I don’t want to limit my expectation to just one.
What songs are on your i-Pod at the moment?
I am a big 80s Rock fan, which means lots of AC/DC, Depeche Mode, The Pixies, INXS, The Cure, Metallica, and I have two go to songs that are just the soundtrack to my life: “”Rooster” by Alice in Chains and “Stranglehold” by Ted Nugent.
Can you sing in the shower?
I can – but I don’t, cause I pity my dogs if they have to listen to me. But I am actually really big on Karaoke – I love it! Don’t ask me why.
What is your beauty regiment for such flawless skin?
Thank you again. I don’t really have any thing set – I try to listen to my body and skin and give it what it craves. When I get dry I drink more water and do a moisturizing mask and vise versa. When you crave something – do it! Your body tells you what it is missing. The only trick I learned in the past year was to use a natural sea sponge to wash my face, as it gently exfoliates and it is naturally antibacterial so it keeps your skin soft and repels bacteria.
Do blondes really do it better?
I wouldn’t know until I go Brunette. May be that will be my ideal role.
