Artist Pat McGrath Releases Her Second Installment of Pigments: Phantom 002
Since the release of Gold 001 in October, we’ve seen the beautiful gilded pigment cropping up on the faces all over social media, and we’ve been dying to see what the genius behind it, Pat McGrath had in store next. Last night, McGrath hosted a release party at a diner in Williamsburg, studded with, no surprise, the coolest kids on the block right now, from literal Victoria’s Secret Angels to Tavi Gevinson, the brains behind Rookie, and Hari Nef, the transgender actress, model, and writer primed to take over just about everything. The belle of the ball was Phantom 002, an eight piece kit, and second offering from McGrath’s eponymous labs. Phantom 002 consists of 4 foil pigments, blue, copper, fuchsia, and gold, a black liner, a black gloss, and 2 brushes, all packaged together in McGrath’s signature bag of sequins, this time holographic. McGrath describes her vision as “club kid/couture clash”, and she and her team spent the night turning their beautiful attendees into glam punk rockers that David Bowie would be envious of. Like Gold 001 all the pigments in Phantom 002 are multipurpose, they work on the eyes, lips, eyebrows, cheeks, anywhere you desire really, and they can also be mixed with the black gloss or layered on top of one another for even more versatility. The kit retails for $240 and will be released on December 15th on her website, but if you’re trying to cop, you’d better set an alarm and check it twice, only 1200 kits are available, and her last release sold out in minutes. See the kit below and check out Pat McGrath’s Instagram to see the kit in action.
