Anna Of The North Reveals Her Guilty Pleasure Jam

The Scandinavian dream-pop beauty, Anna of the North, grabbed our full attention last year with the infectious single, “Sway”. Ever since we have been teased with the follow-up track “Oslo” and captivated by the mystery of Anna of the North. We caught up for a quick chat about feminism, guilty pleasure pop songs and when to expect the much-anticipated debut album.

“Sway” is such a jam- please tell us you’re working on a new album?!
Thanks! We don’t know about an album yet. But we’re working on heaps of new music. It’s been so much happening after the release of “Sway”. But we feel like the pieces are falling in to the right places and we’re really excited for 2015 and our next release.

There’s an air of mystery about you and very little information available on the internet. Can you let us in on a secret about yourself?
We like to keep it low key. I don’t know. I’m so nervous when I walk on stage that I feel like crying.

Do you consider yourself a feminist?
I don’t know if I wanna answer that question [laughs]. I’ve had a good life so far and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to do anything I wanted to do. I don’t think me being a boy would have affected any of those things.

There are a lot of really terrible pop songs out there – what’s your guilty pleasure song?
Jessica Mauboy featuring Jay Sean have helped me trough a lot of heartbreaks.
