An Ode To FKA Twigs: We Love You
Earlier this month, we heard the news that made us believe in love again: Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs are the newest/most amazing celebrity couple. Unfortunately this past weekend after their relationship was confirmed, Robert Pattinson/Kristen Stewart fans began harassing FKA Twigs with racist tweets, because the internet is a terrible place. Vom. It’s extremely troubling how quickly people on twitter revert to racism when lamenting about their freakishly obsessive celeb crushes. Additionally, the fact that there still are diehard Twilight fans/losers seriously makes me cringe. Move on basics.
FKA Twigs in all her flawlessness briefly and eloquently responded to these idiots, tweeting, “I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my account the past week.” She followed up by saying, “Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it’s unacceptable online.” Rock on girl. Here are some of our favorite FKA Twigs moments for the lovers and especially the haters that need reminding that she’s everything.
The Water Me music video. From her 2013 EP2, this trippy track paired with its accompanying insane vid put FKA Twigs on the map and became an instant visual classic.
The Papi Pacify me video too. Also on EP2, FKA Twigs co-directed and starred in the video for Papi Pacify. The video features glitter adorned Twigs playing submissive and aggressive roles with a guy. It’s wildly sexy and slightly disturbing, a balancing act she artfully masters.
Her Dazed cover shoot and interview. Over the summer, FKA Twigs was on the cover of Dazed Magazine. The feature showcases both her unique beauty and her profound and intelligent thoughtfulness. Favorite quote from the interview: “I don’t know if I’m a tortured soul, but I was born heartbroken. I remember feeling it when I was so young. I was like, ‘Mum, it hurts.’” Damn.

Two Weeks and all of that amazingness. In June FKA Twigs released the visual for the track Two Weeks from her 2014 album LP1. Directed by visionary Nabil, saying the video is epic would be a severe understatement. FKA Twigs is depicted as a giant, ancient empress, surrounded by a bunch of mini-hers as her backup dancers. It’s wild.
Her NYC performance. Here’s some footage from her August performance at Webster Hall. Her dance moves are perfection. See for yourself here.
Looking like a total babe with her BOYFRIEND ROBERT PATTINSON. There I said it. Sorry you freaks.
