Electro-Punk Singer Ace Harper Is High On Life

How do music and fashion interact for you?
They interact in absolutely every way for me. Fashion is just as much of an expression for me as my music is. I am a very visual artist and have been influenced by the musicians that are just as much fashion icons like David Bowie and Debbie Harry. I want my show to be a full experience from the songs, to the performance to the fashion. It all tells a story of who I am.
What’s your favorite lyric that you’ve ever heard or written?
“I’m a street walkin’ cheetah with a heart full of napalm” from Search and Destroy by Iggy and the Stooges! I feel like super woman when I hear that song.
What songs are you currently playing on repeat?
“Bitch Better Have My Money” of course! RiRi can do no wrong in my eyes. And FKA Twigs,”Two Weeks.” She is an amazing performer and I was stoked to see her at Coachella. Also, Violent Femmes “Gone Daddy Gone.” I’m excited to perform my own version of this song soon.
What’s your style mantra?
If you feel fabulous in what you’re wearing it doesn’t really matter what anyone else thinks!
What are your essential pieces for a Spring capsule wardrobe?
My Schott white leather jacket, a sexy leotard/bodysuit, my fave Vivienne Westwood for Lee denim jacket. Also, flares and high waisted jeans are back. A jumpsuit and romper that can go from day to night. I always have a glam rock inspired blazer (I love The Kooples). A small cross body bag with a pop of color.
What are the best accessories to class up jeans and a tee?
I actually feel the most sexy in jeans and a tee and an incredible pair of heels. I love killer pumps, black rock ‘n’ roll ankle boots, or my Saint Laurent punk rock kitten heels. I will pile on all my bracelets for a bunch of arm candy too.
What are three things you never leave home without?
My biker jacket, my sunnies, and my french bulldog, Bowie.
