ACACIA Swim Designers Didn’t Play It Safe & It Paid Off
It’s hot hot hot in Miami, not just because of the sun’s shimmering rays. Sizzling models in amazing bikinis and the designers who created them are descending upon the city to showcase the coolest upcoming trends in swimwear. In honor of Miami Swimweek, we’re interviewing all the swimwear designers you absolutely need to know. Stay tuned.
ACACIA Swimwear, founded by darling duo Lyndie Irons and Naomi Nerwith, bridges the gap between simple and sexy. Five years after their first Swim Week, and their second year showing on the runway, the two have developed a veteran mentality. “ACACIA’s first year attending Swim Week, the unknown felt a bit intimidating. Everyone said we would not do well unless we made bottoms with ‘more coverage,'” Irons revealed. Staying true to their vision paid off, and now they cite their barely-there Ho’okipa bottom as their best seller. It’s safe to say that ACACIA’s daring cuts and subtle prints are some of the hottest in the fashion game, especially since some major style stars, like Rihanna and Vanessa Hudgens, are big fans of the brand. “We definitely have Miami Swim week to thank for where our brand is today!” Irons said.
For their latest collection, the duo traveled to Bali to find inspiration. “Mother Earth is our biggest muse,” the pair agreed. “We are all about simplicity. We like our pieces to speak for themselves.” Their simple vibe is translated into their signature mesh pieces (trend alert!). But the swimwear they are most excited to see walk the runway? “The Manhattan top and Sandys bottom!” The two agreed once again. “We’d love to see Queen B rock them!” The best part about ACACIA is undoubtedly the way the pieces speak for themselves. The only accessory you need when rocking ACACIA is Marilyn Monroe-esque confidence—along with a fabulous pair of sunnies (and their namesake sunscreen). “It’s all about feeling sexy,” the designers finished.
