5 Must-See Governors Ball Artists

Heading out to Gov Ball this weekend, here’s 5 bands you cannot miss!

By Shannon Kurlander

Haerts
Brooklyn synth-pop band Haerts have garnered a considerable amount of attention for a band with only one EP under their belts. Their set is sure to be dreamy and may be your opportunity to hear tracks from their upcoming LP.

The Kills
Who knows what to expect from The Kills who have not released any new material since 2011 Blood Visions…however we do know they can put on a killer show. Alison Mosshart has confirmed that the duo is recording a new album…perhaps this is your chance to catch a sneak peak!

Classixx
Today everyone is a DJ or producer and few rise above the generic expectations…but Classixx soar above the mediocrity. Los Angeles duo Tyler Blake and Michael David are craftsmen of nostalgic and stylistic pop sounds. All I’m waiting for this weekend is their bubblegum 80’s anthem “All You’re Waiting For”.

Grimes
Everyone’s favorite pop weirdo will grace the stage with her awkward dance moves and perfect lush pop. She announced plans to debut three new songs including a track she wrote for Rihanna that was rejected.

Jack White
Forget the petty Black Keys and Jack White feud for a second. Childish drama aside, Jack White is a true rock n’ roll figure of our generation. I have no doubt he will steal the show and this is the perfect opportunity to hear him debut new songs from his upcoming album.
