This weekend Chicago Union Park will be home to the ninth edition of Pitchfork Music Festival. You won’t find the festival headliner usuals, like Jack White or Outkast, but you will find a solid lineup of alternative and hip-hop acts that achieved the acclaimed Pitchfork approval but are also stellar live. If you are headed to Chicago this weekend you HAVE to see these acts…it will be so worth it.

1. FKA Twigs
Named as one of Billboard’s “14 Artists to Watch in 2014”, FKA Twigs has been fascinating people with her stunningly artistic videos and soulful voice since 2012. She is not a frequent live performer and typically sells out when she does…so this your opportunity! Plus the performance may offer a glimpse of what to expect on EP2.

2. DIIV
After selling out three back-to-back headlining shows at The Music Hall of Williamsburg, the boys of DIIV will travel to Chicago to play songs from their beloved Oshin and brand new songs. Go for more than just a potential glimpse at lead singer Zackary Cole Smith’s girlfriend Sky Ferreira.

3. Earl Sweatshirt
Earl Sweatshirt recently announced that he will be cancelling his remaining tour dates due to exhaustion. HOWEVER he will still be performing at Pitchfork Music Festival. A definite must-see.

4. Perfect Pussy
Need to get out a little aggression? Get your game face on and mosh like a pro to Perfect Pussy. Even if hardcore isn’t your cup of tea, go for the fierce lead singer, Meredith Graves. How she effortlessly accomplishes being absolutely adorable and badass is a mystery.
