3D Print Your Own Dildo, Because Why The Hell Not?

When it comes to masturbation, it’s important to explore yourself and find out what turns you on and what gets you off. While there are sadly still a vast majority of girls who somehow don’t seem to masturbate (what are you doing with your life?), the rest of us have come pretty clean and freely discuss our vibrator purchases with each other (because they don’t have Yelp for Dildos, I don’t think?).

While technology has blessed us with many new and improved ways to get laid, for those times when you want a solo session, you can now 3D print your own dildo!

How does this work? Berlin born programmer Ikaros Kappler has designed a way for the average user to easily design their own phallic toy without prior knowledge of 3D modeling software. Kappler has revolutionized 3D sex toy printing with his program and made it easy for the average horny girl reading 50 Shades of Grey to design her own dildo. Unfortunately, even if you do own your own 3D printer, you probably don’t want to print out your new toy in basic plastic filament. Developer Jan Northoff recommends printing the mold out in plastic, and casting the toy in silicone.

If you’re adventurous, UPS now offers 3D printing services as well. So you could just casually take a trip down to your local UPS and send them the design for the perfectly personalized dildo that you’ve created. Maybe if the mail guy is hot he’ll take the hint and ask you out instead? The possibilities are endless.

Unfortunately, critics of this 3D printing sex toy craze are warning us that printed sex toys can cause infections due to their inability to become completely clean. Because 3D printers generate items by applying layer by layer of material, there are microscopic holes in items printed. Due to this, even if your dildo appears smooth and clean, there can easily be bacteria growing inside (gross!).

That being said, while you may want to spend the rest of your afternoon designing dildos from your work computer while pretending to be productive, you might not want to consider actually ordering one for use until they’ve developed a safer and more hygienic method for 3d printing sex toys.
