Foodie wonder and bikini-licious babe Meryl Villacorta does it all. She spends her days whipping up delicious munchies (and indulging herself) at her place-to-be restaurant Gigi in Miami. Yet SOMEHOW, she keeps a tight body and finds time to work out! Here, she shares her secrets to doing it all, and even dishes up a quick & easy steak recipe to help you weasel your way into a dudes heart. Read it all, below.

How can you eat donuts and still have a bangin body like yours?

Donuts are my weakness, I love them! But normally I stick to a pretty well balanced diet and try to stay away from fried and processed foods.  Cooking food for yourself (so you know exactly what you’re eating) instead of getting take out is also key.  I think it’s all about moderation and staying active but I really believe in indulging every so often. Treat yo’self!

What’s your workout routine like?

Running around the kitchen, cooking and being on my feet for 11-12 hours straight is a workout in itself! The physical aspect of working in a restaurant is actually pretty grueling but I dig it!  I also do yoga, run and go to spin class when my schedule allows.   

What’s the best (easy) recipe to impress potential BF’s with your cooking skills?

You really can’t ever go wrong with meat and potatoes (unless your bf is a vegetarian…..) If done right it looks kinda fancy but its super simple:

Ingredients:

2 filet mignon steaks

1 pound small red, yellow and purple potatoes

olive oil

thyme

butter

parmesan cheese

garlic powder

sliced shiitake mushrooms

1/3 cup red  red wine

1/2cup beef stock

salt and pepper

Set your oven to 400 degrees. Heat up a cast iron skillet til it’s smoking hot.  Season a filet mignon generously with salt and pepper. Put some oil in the pan and sear one side of the filet for a minute. Then transfer the pan to the oven.  Cut the potatoes in half, season them with salt and pepper, thyme, garlic,  oil, and Parmesan cheese. Put the potatoes in a roasting pan and put in the oven.  Flip the filet that’s in the oven and continue to cook for another 10-15 min (for medium rare).  When filet is done, take the pan out of the oven.  Remove the filet and let it rest on a plate to let the juices redistribute.  Now, make a sauce with the juices that are left in the pan.  Put some sliced mushrooms, a couple tablespoons butter and flour in the pan and heat up on the stove top.  Add some beef stock and red wine and let it reduce. By the time it reduces your potatoes should be done (golden brown and delish)! Plate it all up and serve.  Your BF will be putty in your hands.

Do you ever get back at a guy by cooking him a really gross dish?

I’ve never even considered this! I think there are way better ways to get back at a guy than to tarnish food 😉

What do you feel is a secret superfood that has yet to catch on?

Sprouts! They are alive so they’re highly nutritious and great as salads.  We did a siracha-lime vinaigrette on a sunflower sprout salad at the restaurant. Also bone broths cure all! I swear it. Colds, hangovers, if you’re just feeling low and need a pick me up, bone broth is where it’s at.  If you wanna get technical, it also helps your bones and joints and is good for your immune system. 

How did you make the transition from modeling to cooking?

I’ve always had a strange obsession with food, cooking and restaurants for as long as I can remember. When I was living overseas and in NYC, I cared more about exploring food markets and going to new restaurants than I did about going to my castings!  I started modeling so long ago, it just started feeling a little boring and repetitive. I decided to pull the trigger and pursue something that I actually had an interest in. So I moved back to Florida and enrolled in culinary school. It was nerve-wracking. I worried that people were gonna think I was weird or something. But I’m so happy I did and I’m loving it!

What’s your number one health/ fitness tip for getting beach ready?

Since booties are on everyone’s minds these days, do your squats!
